The Cherry Poppin' Daddies are from Eugene, Oregon,home of the University of Oregon and site of several Grateful Dead stops. The band has beenwavering between having 7 and 8 musicians for around a year now. The band formed in 1988,and began playing Dixieland jazz. That sound is very apparent on their first album, self-releasedin 1990. They tour all the time, which is how I've been able to see them play 15 times in around4 years.
